Dark colour, deep red.
Absolutely gorgeous aromas of gunpowder, smidge of coffee oak, and berries.
This is an extremely enjoyable, elegant wine. So fresh, with lovely sweet ripe ‘fruits of the forest’, with a wrapping of savoury flavours. Very very good.
Reviews of other vintages of Chateau Ferriere.
Almost a year later, we tried a bottle that was served a bit too cold. It was a lovely wine, but seemed closer to Chateau du Tertre (or a New Zealand cabernet for that matter) with a fresh seam of green. Lots of berries, missing the deeper flavours.
