Cote-Rotie, Northern Rhone, France. 13%
Smooth, harmonious Syrah, with some nice floral notes. Very different from Australian shiraz even cooler climate versions. The Viognier isn’t as overt as in New World versions.
Moderate concentration. Very drinkable, but didn’t always hold my attention.
88 points. A bit over a year later. It’s a warm slightly sweetish Rhone yet with a savoury green flavour. Goes well with food in spite of not being very concentrated.
